Photos of Albanian authors[edit]

As I informed the uploader ([1]), the following 6 images without source, without the author, without the date of creation and without a free licence are obvious copyvios and mus be deleted here:

If they should turn to be free so I would suggest to upload them to Commons later anyway. Regards, -jkb- 11:30, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Albanian authors and their work[edit]

The Albanian copyright law use the same rule like the most European ones - 70 years after the death of the author ([2], see also [3]). Therefore the following pages are still protected by the law until the author declares they are free:

Notice: e.g. the works of Gjergj Fishta will be free on January 1st 2011 and can be renewed then.
There are some more problems or questions, in the Category:Albanian I see many pages that sounds like international treaties etc. and it is known that not every such text is automatically free. But let us do that later. Regards, -jkb- 11:54, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why should be deleted.--Tufche 20:22, 2 March 2009 (UTC) - moved to here from User talk:Tufche by -jkb- 13:01, 3 March 2009 (UTC) [reply]

Hallo. Sorry, but it is simple. The Wikisource can host only such texts that are free i.s. PD, GFDL etc. But the texts are not free. The Albanian copyright law protect all texts 70 years after the death of the author. thus, all these texts (and photos as well) are protected, i.e. they have no free licence. I thought that it was clear after the discussion on meta, where I recommended a workaround about copyright in the Albanian Wikipedia ([4]). It would be usefull, I think. Many regards, -jkb- 13:01, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hymni i Flamurit is the national anthem therefor it is in the public domain, Fjalimi i Presidentit të Kosovës para KS-së të OKB-së I'm sure is not copyrighted but I just can't find any proof, perhaps i will be able too very soon , Author:Gjergj Fishta died in 1940, we are now in 2009 = 69years after his death (one more year), as for the others I'll reply in the following days --Cradel 20:38, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK. The anthem is free according to the article 9 of the copyright law, the template is removed. Waiting for your new about Fjalimi i Presidentit të Kosovës para KS-së të OKB-së. The Author:Gjergj Fishta will be in the PD (as I wrote above) on the January 1st 2011 (1940 + 70 = 2010, the protection lasts to the end of the year even if he was born on January 1st). The full English translation of the Albanian copyright law of 2005 can be found here. See also commons:Commons:Copyright tags#Albania, commons:Template:PD-Albania-exempt and commons:Category:PD Albania exempt. Thank you for the response, regards, -jkb- 09:40, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ad Fjalimi i Presidentit të Kosovës para KS-së të OKB-së: it is not easy for me to follow, but now I guess it is a speech of the Albanian president that can be according to different laws free but not in any case. I do not want to judge this case, there has been many discussions on the en.source, see also a comment, best find something in the Albanian law. But this one seems to be good. Regards, -jkb- 11:05, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Works of authors who died more than 50 years ago can be moved to Wikilivres, i.e. Aleksander Stavre Drenova, Faik Konica, Gjergj Fishta. Is anyone willing to create a main page in Albanian there? Yann 15:31, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If published in 1922 or earlier, they may be hosted here with Template:PD-US-1923-abroad, better with an Albanian translation, while Albanian Wikisource does not exist yet. Pre-1923 works whose known authors have not died for more than 50 years cannot be hosted at Canadian Wikilivres.--Jusjih 02:58, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File Maa na gun[edit]

File:Maa na gun.jpg, possible copyvio, see User talk:Ashok modhvadia#Image Maa na gun, -jkb- 14:23, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Done, deleted. Innv 02:39, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

With missing authorship and date of publication, I consider it a possible copyvio. As Template:L'Internationale has removed some links to subdomains that have deleted their versions of The Internationale, e.g. as copyvio, I would like to have it deleted if unable to tell its copyright status.--Jusjih 17:51, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Esperanto text[edit]

The question of the licence of Rezolucio de la 65-a Internacia Junulara Kongreso de TEJO must be cleared, see also User talk:Blahma. -jkb- 17:25, 23 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Keep Rezolucio de la 65-a Internacia Junulara Kongreso de TEJO as I see the license at the source site.--Jusjih 00:55, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Two translations, from 1965 and 1970. Copyright in Indonesia expires 50 years after the death of the author, and the translations are too recent to qualify as {{PD-US-1923-abroad}}. Jafeluv 11:19, 8 October 2010 (UTC) (moved from WS:PD) Jafeluv 09:08, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted.--Jusjih 04:10, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

From what I understand this seems to be a song from 1998, so copyright has surely not expired. Jafeluv 23:06, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

According to el.wikisource, this Greek translation of "The Internationale" by en:Kostas Varnalis (1883-1974) is not yet in the public domain in Greece. It could be {{PD-US-1923-abroad}}, but I can't find the year of translation anywhere on the web. Jafeluv 21:38, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted for unknown year of the Greek version. If later proved to be published in 1922 or earlier, it may be undeleted with {{PD-US-1923-abroad}}.--Jusjih (talk) 23:05, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

According to [5], these are the lyrics for a musical number from the 1985 film Donga. They're too old young to be PD through age (copyright in India lasts for 60 years after publication), and there's no indication of a free license. Jafeluv 02:38, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The poems by Karl Marx translated into Belarussian, comes probably from this site -> http://kamunikat.fontel.net/www/knizki/pieraklady/siomucha/marx/01.htm. Translation into Belarusian done by Vasyl Siomucha (Васіль Сёмуха), still alive, see here -> http://be-x-old.wikipedia.org/wiki/Васіль_Сёмуха... 2011[edit]

Natalla Arsienniewa, the author of this poem died on 25.7.1997 in USA (see here -> [6]) and shes works not in public domain, yet. Nor in Belarus (50 years after death), not in Western Europe and USA (70 years after death) where she emigrate in 1944, lived and published. Electron  <Talk?> 15:47, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

2002 My Belarusy lyrics contest[edit]

2002 My Belarusy lyrics contest - give no indication that it is Public Domain or CC-BY-SA. --Doug.(talk contribs) 14:11, 13 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Belarusian copyrigt act (Закон Республики Беларусь "Об авторском праве и смежных правах") stated that the official Belarusian anthem is not the subject protected by the copyright law, see art. 8 p.1. So it is PD but only the version of М. Клiмковiч, Ул. Карызна (words), Н.Сакалоўскі (music): Мы - беларусы - мiрныя людзi... that is the official state antem now. Others that were only proposals of new anthem are not PD. Electron  <Talk?> 13:19, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Can you, or someone else who can read the relevant act, add an appropriate copyright tag? Does the page include anything other than the PD lyrics? Shouldn't the name of the page be changed, I can't imagine that the Belarusian anthem includes the words "lyrics contest" in its title. ;-) --Doug.(talk contribs) 13:30, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I did what you ask me but there is a problem with renaming. It should be named as Мы, беларусы, but here is the text with tha same name. It is almost the same text to 2002 My Belarusy lyrics contest now but "my" version has more info and the authors are produced. The better way will be to delate Мы, беларусы and after that to rename 2002 My Belarusy lyrics contest to Мы, беларусы... Electron  <Talk?> 20:31, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
OK, thanks! I have posted on the Scriptorium requesting an admin assist with this move.----Doug.(talk contribs) 10:33, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Moved 2002 My Belarusy lyrics contest to Мы, беларусы without leaving the redirect. If anyone thinks that a redirect should be kept, feel free to add it.--Jusjih (talk) 10:00, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. But to tell the truth, all articles from Category:Беларуская (except Main Page/Беларуская) should be deleted now because they were moved to be.wikisource.org and there is no sense to keep them here any more... Electron  <Talk?> 09:27, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Deleted Мы, беларусы for already moved into Belarusian Wikisource. As be:Размовы з удзельнікам:Wizardist suggests that all Belarusian pages and their versions are already moved to Belarusian Wikisource, but I cannot manually delete them here in a short time, so I plan to delete Belarusian pages here gradually. Please also edit Wikisource:Subdomain coordination to fill in the information on Belarusian Wikisource.--Jusjih (talk) 09:36, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I am not an expert of Belarussian copyrigts but I now that the lenght of author's copyrigts last 50 years p.m. on Belarus. Maybe, in the future will ensue a need to keep some Bellarusian works here... I don't know now. We'll see... Electron  <Talk?> 14:48, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Btw. To mass deletation more useful is using the bot. Of cource it must have admin rigths. If there is nobody else with the bot I can do this - if there is a possibility to give my bot the admin rights on some time to performe this operation... Electron  <Talk?> 15:50, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
To request temporary admin right for a bot, please apply at Wikisource:Administrators#Requests for other rights and explain how long. Any local bureaucrat here may add a flag, but a steward will have to remove it when expired.--Jusjih (talk) 07:57, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I put the request there. Electron  <Talk?> 09:47, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Who made the unofficial translations? Where? When? If unsure, I propose deletion. Otherwise, I propose moving them to the language subdomains.--Jusjih (talk) 09:36, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
