Importing pages

Hi, I saw that you are the only one "importer" on old Wikisource. In eowiki there are two pages that should be imported in Wikisource. Could you export them and import here? Thank you, --→ Airon Ĉ 10:52, 12 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Done importing the full edit history, not just the latest versions supplied by you. Please check.--Jusjih 02:41, 13 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thank you! I never imported a page so I don't know how to do (I thought it should be done through Special:Export and Special:Import) --→ Airon Ĉ 16:03, 6 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
You are welcome and yes, the correct way to import is to use Special:Export from the wiki of origin and then Special:Import at the wiki of destination. Special:Export seems to be an unrestricted function, but Special:Import may be limited to specific users.--Jusjih 20:40, 6 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi. We need to transfer/import from the Incubator to the Wikisourse some poems and stories on the Gagauz language. Is it possible? Or we must copy them to here and delete there?--Andrijko Z. 12:42, 11 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Please provide the specific URL of the incubator and which pages to bring here, so I can go there to export the pages, then import here. Thanks.Jusjih 01:31, 12 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
This is the Main page of the Gagauz Wikisourse here. The code for the Gagauz language is "gag". Next pages need to be imported:

--Andrijko Z. 02:05, 12 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

I just tried to import all 88 pages, but only the following are reported as successful:
  1. Wp/gag/Ana Dilim 3 revisions
  2. Wp/gag/Ana dilim 3 revisions
  3. Wp/gag/Ay mari Tudorka 2 revisions
  4. Wp/gag/Ayoz 3 revisions
  5. Wp/gag/Cambaz 2 revisions
  6. Wp/gag/Fisirti 2 revisions
  7. Wp/gag/Gerekmiyor 2 revisions
  8. Wp/gag/Hay dani dani 2 revisions
  9. Wp/gag/Manoli manoli 3 revisions
  10. Wp/gag/Mari Marinka 3 revisions
  11. Wp/gag/Masallar 2 revisions
  12. Wp/gag/Nasaat 2 revisions
  13. Wp/gag/Nikola oolum Nikola 3 revisions
  14. Wp/gag/O 2 revisions
  15. Wp/gag/Okulcuyum 2 revisions
  16. Wp/gag/Oolum, boydani oolum 3 revisions
  17. Wp/gag/Senin de var sevdan 1 revision
  18. Wp/gag/Stoyene oolum 1 revision
  19. Wp/gag/Stuyane oolum stuyane 1 revision
  20. Wp/gag/Yollar 1 revision
Would you please try to make a more "friendly" list for the remainders, such as Aar soruşlar rather than Aar_soru%C5%9Flar? I ask this because if you do not do it, I have to open each page to copy and paste. Thanks.--Jusjih 03:02, 12 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Done--Andrijko Z. 14:43, 12 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Why I can't rename pages?--Andrijko Z. 15:09, 12 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Because, I think, you are relatively new on this wiki. It's an anti-vandalism measure. I guess there page names should remain the same, except for removing the Wp/gag/ part? --Ooswesthoesbes 16:28, 12 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yes, you're absolutely right=) Rename them, please, and delete these redirects with prefix wp/gag after renaming--Andrijko Z. 17:20, 12 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
I have imported all of them. I did not know that the above 20 items already had page moves suppressing redirects, but the duplicates may be speedily deleted.--Jusjih 23:00, 12 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
I speedily deleted the duplicates. I have finished moving others to new page titles without "Wp/gag/" or redirects. Please check if everything is in order. Please also ask any Incubator administrator to delete the pages that are no longer needed there.--Jusjih 23:35, 12 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thank you very much=) Soon we would like to import some Hill Mari articles from the Incubator, I'll ask you=)--Andrijko Z. 03:15, 14 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
You are welcome and please specify which pages to import for the next time as well.--Jusjih 00:50, 15 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hill Mari

Articles for exporting from the Incubator to the Hill Mari Wikisourse (They need to be renamed: in the name must be deleted wp/mrj and (мыры)). Please!

And, please, clean this category--Andrijko Z. 14:42, 15 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Done the importing and moving of 123 pages. Deletion_requests will be looked at later.--Jusjih 03:04, 16 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. Soon will some more Gagauz articles--Andrijko Z. 04:35, 16 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Gagauz 2

Please, export these articles from the Incubator and rename them without Wp/gag/. Thank you=)

--Andrijko Z. 13:44, 16 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Finished importing, but I wonder if one of them is missing. As I am burdened with many other tasks, I am postponing page moves, but any administrator here may move these pages here without leaving redirects.--Jusjih 02:38, 17 September 2010 (UTC) (administrator on 11 wikis)Reply
Yea, this was not exporting:Çoçuk_hem_Kaplan (I wrote uncorrect Url)... And what to do with renaming... I don't know whom can I ask about it.. (This was the last mass importing)... Rename, please--Andrijko Z. 04:16, 17 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Finished importing the last one and renaming all the last 70 pages with redirects suppressed.--Jusjih 02:34, 18 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thank you very much!=)--Andrijko Z. 04:09, 18 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Done. As you have asked for so many page imports, anything else?--Jusjih 00:03, 19 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
No, thanks--Andrijko Z. 03:33, 19 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Export, please, these 6 pages and rename without Wp/lang-code...

Importing help

Hi Jusjih, I recently moved the page Výlomky z Jánošíka to the Slovak Wikisource by copy-paste since the import function there only works for Commons and Meta, but apparently the page should instead have been somehow imported anyway (the discussion is here). Is there another way to import the page history to sk.wikisource? Regards, Jafeluv 11:53, 18 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

The full edit history is now there and the page here is deleted. When going there, I am automatically able to import without extra local flag. Please check if local administrators there may simply import XML data after exporting from the source. If yes, your wiki can do it yourself. If no, I can do it if needed.--Jusjih 17:07, 18 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
The sk.wikisource is unfortunately dead since its creation in 2006. -jkb- 17:29, 18 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
I think stewards have the importupload (or whatever) user right by default so you can export from XML. I only see the combobox with the options "commons" and "meta"... I guess next time I could request a local importer flag temporarily so I don't have to come bugging you every time :) Thank you both for your help. Jafeluv 18:56, 18 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Exporting files to Commons

Hi Jusjih,

Are you the person to ask for exporting these files from Oldwikisource to Commons? Or is there a way for me to do it, being a sysop on both here and there? Thank you very much if you can help. --Zyephyrus 13:43, 24 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

I am not the only one capable of exporting to Wikimedia Commons. commons:Commons:Upload allows choosing a transfer from another wiki. However, the file transfer tool does not work well from this portal, so I am asking at commons:User_talk:Magnus_Manske#File_transfer_from_old_Wikisource_to_Commons.--Jusjih 01:06, 25 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, Jusjih. --Zyephyrus 07:46, 25 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi! Please, move this articles from Incubator to here, and when you're removing, please, delete this Wp/lang-code. Thank you.

--Andrijko Z. 12:09, 16 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Done. Please check.--Jusjih 04:24, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thank you=)--Andrijko Z. 11:18, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Gagauz 3

Hi. Move, please, these pages to here. Thank you.

--Andrijko Z. 13:28, 22 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Done the importing. Further edits may be needed.--Jusjih 13:37, 22 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thanks--Andrijko Z. 13:53, 22 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Elinan surma

Hi Jusjih, could you please import a few pages (listed below) from the Finnish Wikisource? The work PD in the US but still copyrighted in Finland, so I'm transferring it here per {{PD-US-1923-abroad}}.

Thanks! Jafeluv 12:55, 17 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Done the imports and moved the pages accordingly. If the copyright law remains the same, when will the Finnish copyright expire?--Jusjih 14:42, 17 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! Finnish copyright on the translation will expire in 2054, when it will be over 70 years after the death of the translator. Jafeluv 15:04, 17 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Subdomain coordination

I see you edit Wikisource:Subdomain coordination today. Could you give me your point of view on Wikisource talk:Subdomain coordination#talk ?

Interlingua page to import here?

Hello Jusjih,

Is the multilingual Wikisource the right place for this page? And if it is, could you import it from the French Wikisource, I haven't importer rights here. Thanks!  :) --Zyephyrus (talk) 13:59, 11 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Yes. This Old Wikisource does accept Interlingua pages. Interlingua Wikisource does not yet exist. I just imported your pointed page.--Jusjih (talk) 16:56, 11 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! --Zyephyrus (talk) 22:51, 11 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Help with harassment by cs.wikisource admins

Hi, I see you are admin of this wiki. On the local Village pump there's written: "This is the central location for discussing issues with Wikisource, and the place to ask for help." So I posted a plea for help there but noone replied. Would you please have a look? I'm being harassed by cs.wikisource admins, I was banned indef but I never did anything wrong on the wiki at all. Thanks in advance. --Auvajs (talk) 17:39, 20 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

I think, you should add this page to a language category. Just create one, if the appropriate category does not exist. Ankry (talk) 20:31, 16 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I just found Category:Languages with subdomains to be useful.--Jusjih (talk) 01:05, 17 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

How we will see unregistered users

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.

Thank you. /Johan (WMF)

Your change to Template:PD-US-1923-abroad/PL

Hi there. Your recent change to Template:PD-US-1923-abroad/PL ( causes a spurious }} (double right curly bracket) to appear - see for example Słownik geograficzny Królestwa Polskiego/Tom II/Dobrzanka. This error does not appear with the previous version of the template. Can I leave this in your capable hands? TIA. Jan1nad (talk) 12:18, 12 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the reminder. Please check again while I would like to depopulate Special:UncategorizedFiles.--Jusjih (talk) 17:11, 12 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
