This page collects requests for deleting specific articles from Wikisource. If you want a page deleted for copyright reasons please list it at Wikisource:Possible copyright violations. If you think a page should be deleted for any other reason, please list it here so it can be discussed. Articles remaining on this page should be deleted if there is no significant opposition. Use {{delete}}.

If requesting deleting any pages to be moved to language subdomains, please try to have edit history imported to the destinations. Asking any active importers or administrators there is preferred. Otherwise, global sysops and stewards may be able to import.

Undelete Wikisource:Sandbox[edit]

On 13 January 2021 Candalua deleted it without discussion. Was it proper?--Jusjih (talk) 22:31, 15 February 2021 (UTC)

@Candalua: Why did you do this? —Justin (koavf)TCM 04:22, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
Ouch. Must have been another malfunction of the mass-delete gadget. I solemnly promise not to use it anymore without checking every single deleted item. Candalua (talk) 10:48, 16 February 2021 (UTC)

Yes check.svg Done by Candalua; but anyway, we should try to avoid using the mass deletion tool if not necessry, and the to controll the deletions. It seems not to work properly every time. -jkb- (talk) 10:12, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

July 2021[edit]

Some short pages[edit]

Some short, out of scope, probably test, pages: Kabila, Page:Bali-lontar-panebasan-wuku-300ppi.pdf/1, ყბაჩამ დაიგვიანა, Коръән тәфсире (Ногмани)/Маидә (Аш Яулыгы) сүрәсе, រដ្ឋធម្មនុញ្ញនៃរដ្ឋកម្ពុជា, Polimie, è grand eccès, di crudeltat, 96 Sureya Eleq an Ferkera Bixwîne, 68 Sureya Qelem an Ferkera Pênûs, The millets

This one is in Hindi: HANUMANASHTAK and seems out of scope, no source, no author, no license, etc.

This one is in French: Histoire du necronomicon, H-P Lovecraft, and seems out of scope (summary of Necronomicon).

This one is in Spanish: Ley de prestacion de servicios inmobiliarios del distrito federal, a Mexican law. No source, so I won't move it to es.source.

And 2 talk pages of non existent users, also broken redirects: User talk:Tigresa2019 and User talk:Alexlur.

Best regards, -jkb-. And keep safe! -Aleator 20:30, 6 July 2021 (UTC)

Wikisource:Confirmed users[edit]

I would expect an explanation in English about Confimed users, not one single sentence in Spanish. If you have a look at Special:UserGroupRights, you can see that more rights are connected to confirmed users than just uploading files. This page seems not to be very helpful. --Ameisenigel (talk) 17:43, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

But, however, I don't see any reason to delete the page. You are fully free to translate it into English :-) -jkb- (talk) 21:14, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

I guess this page is out of scope here (+ obviously self translation), might be the English wikisource could take it, - ?? -jkb- (talk) 13:54, 24 July 2021 (UTC)

Yes check.svg Done deleted as not appropriate here, -jkb- (talk) 09:58, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

August 2021[edit]

File:Progreso - 8a yaro.pdf[edit]

This file contains 2 volumes of the periodical 'Progreso'. I think it should be deleted and the volumes added separetely with their original names (Tomo VIII and Tomo IX instead of 8a Yaro).

Also I’m not sure of the copyright status. The volumes were not published in 1908 as mentioned in the description of the file, but in 1931 and 1932. Rosacentifolia (talk) 17:08, 1 August 2021 (UTC)

If there is a reason to split the file, anyone is free to do it. Also, feel free to fix the description if necessary. Copyright doubts may be a reason for deletion by they need to be raised more precisely. Ankry (talk) 17:25, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi, not sure how to handle this. Is there a way to split the existing file ? Or should I re-upload a split version of it ?
The only infos I have regarding the copyright are the publishing dates written on the covers, 1931 and 1932, and the year of death of some of the contributors : 1969 for S. Bakonyi, 1999 for A. Matejka. I don't know if that’s enough to prove copyright infringement. Rosacentifolia (talk) 21:43, 1 August 2021 (UTC)

Article "Язык - как канал познания" from "Erzyan Mastor" newspaper[edit]

The article:

It should be deleted from the Wikisource because seemingly it is not free-licensed. Actually it was written by Erzyan linguist Dimtry Tsygankin (Цыганкин, Дмитрий Васильевич in the Russian Wikipedia, there is no an English Wikipedia article on him at this moment), though his authorship was not signed in the article (proposed here for deletion) itself, but indication of his authorship was provided in the next newspaper issue — article Эрзянь Мастор/2003/20/Язык - как канал познания, a quote from it, in translation to English: "In "EM" No. 170 a mistake was made — the name of the author of this article was not indicated. ... We ask Dmitry Vasilyevich and readers to forgive us for this fault." Notwithstanding the decision of the owners of the newspaper that all the materials of the newspaper are licensed under CC BY 4.0, this decision applies only to works by staff employees of the newspaper, and cannot be applied to articles originated from independent persons outside the staff, whose copyrights are not owned by the newspaper. This author does not work as staff member for the nespaper — at least, we have no evidences for this; also we have no evidences that he submitted the copyright to the newspaper, or released the article under a free license; so far the article currently should be deleted. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. --Nigmont (talk) 18:37, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
