Category:Hindi[edit]

I think hotcat on this project is broken and not working. It will be better to keep it as other small wiki's do. @अजीत: You can copy and past the following line in your local common.js (for this project) or in global.js (for all wiki projects). Then it will work for you.

Yes, I was about to say – it seems that the local copy of HotCat hasn't really been updated since it was added in 2010… Things have changed since then. I will try to use what संजीव कुमार in the gadget page and see if it works (but it might not work correctly in the Page namespace, and introduce the same kind of error that Satdeepbot introduced when categorizing pages, so I'll need to do some testing and might have to disable it in that namespace. @संजीव कुमार: & @Jon Harald Søby: Its not working properly. It means Hotcat is working but I'm not able to save it yet. According to error message wikitext is different from proof-read page, however its suggesting me to copy text from source editing. If anyone of you could fix it, it would be a great help. I have updated the script here now so it should work. However, I have disabled it in the Page and Index namespaces, because making it work there would need some (relatively) substantial changes to the HotCat code itself, which is beyond my capabilities. hiwikisource files[edit]

Hi! With the Neapolitan Wikisource there were some problems because some of the PDF/DjVu files were uploaded here and couldn't be uploaded to napwikisource. I see that there are some files in Category:हिन्दी, and that you have uploaded some of them. Would you be able to move these files to Commons instead, so that they will work when the index pages are imported to hiwikisource? Great! There is a new tool called FileImporter, which should do this, but it doesn't seem like it's enabled for this wiki. There are several other alternatives you could check out on c:Commons:Moving files to Commons. If none of them work for you, uploading again is still an option. I found out why the tool is not enabled in beta features – it has moved out of beta for this wiki! That means that there is a tab next to the history tab on top of the page that says "Export to Wikimedia Commons". It seems some of the licenses used for the Hindi works are not yet in the configuration, I will try to fix that. Jon Harald Søby (talk) 12:14, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Jon Harald Søby: I am exporting files to commons with {{PD-1996}} license. However, in File usage on Commons section, it says

New wikis importers[edit]

Hindi books[edit]

I noticed that book files for some hiwikisource indexes are missing; they likely should be moved to Commons but this requires filling the information template. Eg:

How we will see unregistered users[edit]

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.
