I tried the MIDI link but it didn't work. Laeq was Minister of Culture in the Communist Government of 1978. It stands to reason that it would not be allowed to last for long after the American invasion. I have found a few biographical notes in German at http://www.afghanistan-seiten.de/afghanistan/bios_l.html He currently leads the People's Democratic Party of Afghanistan, a breakaway communist group.
