کس درجہ یہاں عام ہُوئی مرگِ تخیّل
ہِندی بھی فرنگی کا مقلّد، عجمی بھی!
مجھ کو تو یہی غم ہے کہ اس دَور کے بہزاد
کھو بیٹھے ہیں مشرق کا سُرورِ اَزلی بھی
معلوم ہیں اے مردِ ہُنَر تیرے کمالات
صنعت تجھے آتی ہے پُرانی بھی، نئی بھی
فطرت کو دِکھایا بھی ہے، دیکھا بھی ہے تُو نے
آئینۂ فطرت میں دِکھا اپنی خودی بھی!
