آج اک افسروں کے حلقے میں
ایک معتوب ماتحت آیا
اپنے افکار کا حساب لیے
اپنے ایمان کی کتاب لیے
ماتحت کی ضعیف آنکھوں میں
ایک بجھتی ہوئی ذہانت تھی
افسروں کے لطیف لہجے میں
قہر تھا، زہر تھا، خطابت تھی
یہ ہر اک دن کا واقعہ، اس دن
صرف اس اہمیت کا حامل تھا
کہ شرافت کے زعم کے با وصف
میں بھی ان افسروں میں شامل تھا
