آزاد کی رگ سخت ہے مانندِ رگِ سنگ
محکوم کی رگ نرم ہے مانندِ رگِ تاک
محکوم کا دل مُردہ و افسردہ و نومید
آزاد کا دل زندہ و پُرسوز و طرب ناک
آزاد کی دولت دلِ روشن، نفسِ گرم
محکوم کا سرمایہ فقط دیدۂ نم ناک
محکوم ہے بیگانۂ اخلاص و مروّت
ہر چند کہ منطق کی دلیلوں میں ہے چالاک
ممکن نہیں محکوم ہو آزاد کا ہمدوش
وہ بندۂ افلاک ہے، یہ خواجۂ افلاک
