[edit] Requests for rights

[edit] Requests for adminship

Important notice: Please do not request sysop status on this site if you plan to request a subdomain, and to mainly participate in that subdomain. Please wait until your subdomain is created, and request to be an admin there.

[edit] User:Angr

Angr (talk contribs blocks protects deletions moves rights)

I've been active here for seven years (with interruptions) and am already an admin at English Wikisource, Welsh Wikisource, English Wikipedia, English Wiktionary, and Commons. Lately I've started doing cleanup in addition to text editing, and I'd like the admin tools so I don't have to keep pestering admins at Proposed deletions with obvious speedies. —Angr 09:34, 30 March 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Requests for Bureaucrat rights

[edit] Requests for other rights

[edit] User:Doug (importer)

Doug (talk contribs blocks protects deletions moves rights)

I am an an admin and transwiki-importer on this project as well as a bot operator. I am also an admin and bot operator on en.ws, mw.org, and en.wp and a bureaucrat, admin, and bot operator on la.ws. I have experience using import-upload on private mw wikis. I have previously requested importer (import-upload) rights on the Scriptorium for this wiki, but the request was archived after only a few comments (see archives, here). A renewed request received no comments after nearly two months, so on the suggestion of Ooswesthoesbes, I'm starting a thread here.

To summarize the need, there is a bug, which causes transwiki import to the multilingual wikisource to fail (except from sv.wssa.ws last I checked). The only way (that is consistent with the licenses) to replicate templates, etc. on mul.ws is to use the more powerful importupload right. importupload can only be granted by a steward (and steward rights also include the right). We have one importer, who happens to also be a steward (he has the importupload privilege independently for this project), Jusjih. As I am working on multilingual works and works that are here due to subdomain copyright policies, I want to be able to import templates easily without requesting this of Jusjih every time. I have basically stopped work on a couple of projects due to the lack of templates. As an active user, I would gladly do this for others as required.--Doug.(talk contribs) 12:33, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Votes for removal of rights

This areas is for votes to remove rights, either for inactivity or for misuse of rights (or any other reason). Please vote/comment on whether you think that the users below should keep or lose their respective user rights. Unless otherwise noted, users who have multiple rights will only have the rights under the particular section removed (i.e. a user with both admin and bureaucrat rights who is nominated for removal of bureaucrat rights, will retain their admin rights). However, normally bureaucrats who lose their admin rights will also lose their bureaucrat rights. Removals of most rights require a Steward, after a discussion is closed with a result of removal, the closing editor should post a request on meta.

[edit] Vote for removal of administrator privileges

This section is for removal of admin rights ("desysopping") If you have been listed here due to inactivity, but intend to resume admin duties, please indicate this so that others can re-evaluate whether you should be desysopped. Admins who are desysopped due to inactivity are encouraged to resume administration whenever they wish, either by talking to a crat or initiating a request above. Admins who do not respond may be automatically desysopped after 30 days.

[edit] ThomasBot

ThomasBot (talk contribs blocks protects deletions moves rights) - (last edit 29 September 2010, last log action 7 December 2010) - CrossActivity - YAEC - SUL - Luxo
  • Desyop as nom due to inactivity and lack of current need for an adminbot. I'm nominating all of the long inactive accounts pro forma. In addition, this one was discussed at Wikisource:Scriptorium/Archives/Jan_2011_-_Dec_2011#Stale_bots_and_sysops last October. ThomasBot has not edited on any wiki since last August and has not edited here in 17 months (no log actions in 14 months). The primary reason for being a sysop appears to be related to deleting pages that had been exported to a subdomain - this is the only wiki on which ThomasBot is an adminbot. This could easily be done by any competent bot handler when needed and ThomasBot isn't around to do it any way. If ThomasV comes back with his bot, it's a simple click for any crat to give it the flag. Additionally, although I expect ThomasV has high standards of security, I generally consider an inactive admin bot to be high risk.--Doug.(talk contribs) 04:05, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Maximillion Pegasus

Maximillion Pegasus (talk contribs blocks protects deletions moves rights) - (last edit 2 February 2011, last log action 28 February 2011) - CrossActivity - YAEC - SUL - Luxo
  • Desyop as nom due to inactivity. I'm nominating all of the long inactive accounts pro forma. Active on other projects but not here in a year. Can ask for the tools back if they come back.--Doug.(talk contribs) 04:05, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

[edit] ThomasV

ThomasV (talk contribs blocks protects deletions moves rights) - (last edit 27 June 2011, last log action 21 February 2011) - CrossActivity - YAEC - SUL - Luxo
  • Desyop as nom due to inactivity as pointed out by VIGNERON above. I'm nominating all of the long inactive accounts pro forma. ThomasV announced his (hopefully temporary) retirement last year and his last edit on any wikimedia project was to confirm on this project that he asked Phe to take over for him as part of his vote of support for Phe's promotion to admin. I would of course support his immediate reinstatement if he came back but I see little chance that he's going to just drop by and take an admin action or even be available if we thought we needed him. He hasn't logged an action in over a year [1].--Doug.(talk contribs) 10:46, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
  • Support for desysop, I too will strongly support his reinstatement if he comes back someday. Candalua (talk) 17:25, 11 April 2012 (UTC)

  • Desyop as nom due to inactivity. I'm nominating all of the long inactive accounts pro forma. Nothing against -jkb- and I know that they are active on other projects, but they haven't logged anything in over a year. I have separately nominated this user for removal of crat privileges, noms should remain separate as the circumstances are substantially different. I have notified the user of both actions.--Doug.(talk contribs) 11:21, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
see bellow, I would like to keep the sysop rigts -jkb- (talk) 05:26, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
  • Retain as he's still around at Wikimedia projects generally and would like to remain an admin here. —Angr 11:39, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
I have no problem with this in principle, but I'd like to see -jkb- actually use the rights now and then.--Doug.(talk contribs) 12:36, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
ok, shortly I will make an "arbcom break" in de:wiki and so I think I will have some more time for toher projects, but up to now it took much time and energy. Regards, -jkb- (talk) 19:25, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
  • Retain per Angr. --Zyephyrus (talk) 00:09, 11 April 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Vote for removal of bureaucrat privileges

[edit] -jkb-

-jkb- (talk contribs blocks protects deletions moves rights) - (last edit 27 June 2011, last log action 21 February 2011) - CrossActivity - YAEC - SUL - Luxo
  • Decrat as nom due to inactivity. I'm nominating all of the long inactive accounts pro forma. Nothing against -jkb- and I know that they are active on other projects, but they have never logged a crat action on this project according to pathoschild's tool. They have logged a fair number of admin actions but nothing in over a year but I am intentionally raising the crat inactivity separately (and I'm doing so here because there doesn't appear to have ever been a promotion/demotion discussion on the crat page). Even if the user is lurking and wants to continue to be an admin (like LadyInGrey apparently was), then I still support removing crat privileges. I can't see a discussion of granting these privileges but they were granted after the user became inactiveafter the last admin log action with the justification "to reflect practical need" [2] and the user's last edit was 26 May 2011.--Doug.(talk contribs) 11:08, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
note there was some sort of discussion at User_talk:-jkb-#Bureaucrat but it was basically the other crats discussing, no other members of the community.--Doug.(talk contribs) 17:13, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
Leaving for short journey in one hour; by the end of the week I will apply on meta to remove my bct rights, but I would like to keep the sysop rigts. Regards -jkb- (talk) 05:26, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
