Hello Thingol old, welcome to the multilingual Wikisource! Thanks for your interest in the project; we hope you'll enjoy the community and your work here.

This wiki is the original Wikisource wiki, originally hosting works in many languages. The larger collections have been spawned into separate projects, leaving this wiki to serve as a central collaboration point, and as an environment where works without a language subdomain can be started. Refer to our languages list to see which languages still reside on this wiki. You can find a list of the separate language projects on the main page or here and you may want to look at the our coordination page for limitations on placing certain works on the separate language projects.

Most questions and discussions about the community are in the Scriptorium.

The Community Portal lists tasks you can help with if you wish. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on my talk page!

Usurpation[edit]

Hello, Thingol.

A request has been made at User talk:Zyephyrus to usurp, or "take over", your user name because another user would like to use it to edit. The changing user name guideline allows a user name that is not being actively used to be usurped if the user is given an opportunity to object and does not do so.

If you have an email set in your preferences, you should be getting an email from a bureaucrat or changing user name clerk explaining how to consent or object to this process.

If you do not object to being renamed to a new user name in order for another user to use the name you currently have, please log in and post a reply here saying so (you may also tell us what user name you would like to be renamed to, or we will provide you with a generic one).

If you do nothing: the request may be filled shortly, and your account will be moved to a generic user name. You may request that it be moved to a new user name of your choice at any time.

If you object to being renamed: please log in and make an edit to this page clearly stating that you object to usurpation. Any objection on your part will prevent usurpation.

Please note that even if your current user name is usurped, you can still edit and your data will not be lost; your preferences, watchlist, and other user settings will be transferred to a new user name.

Thank you for your time.
