EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 17

Series of 2020

AN ORDER REQUIRING ALL SCHOOLS, BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENTS, AND GOVERNMENT AND NON-GOVERNMENT OFFICES WITHIN AGOO, LA UNION TO INITIATE AND INSTITUTE NECESSARY MEASURES TO PREVENT, CONTROL AND CONTAIN THE SPREAD OF CORONAVIRUS DISEASE 2019 (COVID-19) IN THE LOCALITY.

WHEREAS, due to increasing number of cases of 2019 Novel Coronavirus to various territories and confirmed human-to-human transmission worldwide, the World

Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) last January 30, 2020;

WHEREAS, DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2020-018 (Guides to Action Against Coronavirus, series of DOH's Interim Guidelines for 2019 NCOV - Acute Respiratory Disease Response (significant to mention are: in Schools and HEIs, Communities, Hotels and Other Similar Establishments, and Workplaces), and other directives from the various national agencies were issued in response to the growing concern of the fatal virus:

NOW THEREFORE, in view of the foregoing, and to fortify and in support to the implementation of the above-mentioned directives, I, STEFANIE ANN Y. ERIGUEL, M.D., Municipal Mayor of Agoo, La Union, by the power vested in me by law, do hereby order:

SECTION 1. General Guidelines:

a. All schools, business establishments, government and non-government offices within the jurisdiction of Agoo, La Union shall establish a hand sanitizing area with ample dispensers of alcohol, sanitizing gel, and/or its equivalent alcohol-based hand rub, and sanitary napkin/tissue accessible to all learners, customers, clients and patrons;

b. The management of schools, business establishments, government and non- government offices shall see to it that every learner/customer/client/patron must undergo sanitation before entering the vicinity of the school/establishment/office;

c. For big/large-scale establishments, the use of Infra-red thermometers to monitor temperatures of customers/clients entering the establishment;
