کون سنتا ہے صرف ذات کی بات
لب پہ ہے میرے کائنات کی بات
کیوں شکن پڑ گئی ہے ابرو پر
میں تو کہتا ہوں ایک بات کی بات
شمع روتی ہے تارے ڈوبتے ہیں
اب فسانہ بنے گی رات کی بات
صبح نو مسکرانے والی ہے
کیا کہیں شب کے حادثات کی بات
مضطرب ہو رہے ہیں دیوانے
ہے تمہاری نوازشات کی بات
بزم اخترؔ میں کیوں خموش ہو تم
ہے یہ بے جا تکلفات کی بات
