چلا جاتا ہے کاروان نفس
نہ بانگ درا ہے نہ صوت جرس
برس کتنے گزرے یہ کہتے ہوئے
کہ کچھ کام کر لیں گے اب کے برس
نہ وہ پوچھتے ہیں نہ کہتا ہوں میں
رہی جاتی ہے دل کی دل میں ہوس
وہ حسرت زدہ صید میں ہی تو ہوں
ہے پرواز جس کی دردن ہوس
ستم ہیں یہ وحشتؔ تری غفلتیں
تجھے کاش ہوتا شمار نفس
