میں یار کا جلوا ہوں
یا دیدۂ موسیٰ ہوں
قطرہ ہوں نہ دریا ہوں
بستی ہوں نہ صحرا ہوں
جینا مرا مرنا ہے
مرنے کو ترستا ہوں
اپنی ہی امیدوں کا
بگڑا ہوا نقشا ہوں
ارمانوں کا گہوارا
حسرت کا جنازا ہوں
اس عالم ہستی میں
یوں ہوں کہ میں گویا ہوں
زندہ ہوں مگر بیدمؔ
اک طرفہ تماشا ہوں
