قفس میں ہوں کہ طائر آشیاں میں
ترا کرتے ہیں ذکر اپنی زباں میں
چمن یوں ہی رہے گا نذر صرصر
ہے اک تنکا بھی جب تک آشیاں میں
ہجوم اشک میں ملتا نہیں دل
مرا یوسف ہے گم اس کارواں میں
مذکر اور مؤنث کی ہیں بحثیں
بڑا جھگڑا ہے یہ اردو زباں میں
جلیلؔ اس باغ میں کانٹے کی صورت
کھٹکتا ہے نگاہ باغباں میں
