شاعر رنگیں فسانہ ہو گیا
شعر بلبل کا ترانہ ہو گیا
اس قدر نقشے اتارے یار نے
یہ جہاں تصویر خانہ ہو گیا
وہ چمن کی یاد نے مضطر کیا
زہر مجھ کو آب و دانہ ہو گیا
آنکھ سے ٹپکی جو آنسو کی لڑی
قافلہ غم کا روانہ ہو گیا
جان لینے آئے تھے شاعرؔ وہی
موت کا تو اک بہانہ ہو گیا
