سمجھ سکو تو یہ تشنہ لبی سمندر ہے
بقدر ظرف ہر اک آدمی سمندر ہے
ابھر کے ڈوب گئی کشتئ خیال کہیں
یہ چاند ایک بھنور چاندنی سمندر ہے
جو داستاں نہ بنے درد بیکراں ہے وہی
جو آنکھ ہی میں رہے وہ نمی سمندر ہے
نہ سوچیے تو بہت مختصر ہے سیل حیات
جو سوچیے تو یہی زندگی سمندر ہے
تو اس میں ڈوب کے شاید ابھر سکے نہ کبھی
مرے حبیب مری خامشی سمندر ہے
