حوصلہ امتحان سے نکلا
جان کا کام جان سے نکلا
درد دل ان کے کان تک پہنچا
بات بن کر زبان سے نکلا
بے وفائی میں وہ زمیں والا
ہاتھ بھر آسمان سے نکلا
حرف مطلب فقط کہا نہ گیا
ورنہ سب کچھ زبان سے نکلا
کچھ کی کچھ کون سننے والا تھا
کچھ کا کچھ کیوں زبان سے نکلا
اک ستم مٹ گیا تو اور ہوا
آسماں آسمان سے نکلا
جس سے بچتا تھا میں دم اظہار
وہی پہلو بیان سے نکلا
وہ بھی ارمان کیا جو اے مضطرؔ
دل میں رہ کر زبان سے نکلا
