Qo‘llaringda ushlab turg‘on cholg‘ungni
Bir ko‘rishda «chin cholg‘u» deb o‘yladim.
O‘yladim-da yuragimning tegidan
Chin sevinchdan turli kuylar kuyladim.
Kuylarimni sekin-sekin tinglag‘och,
Yolg‘ondan bir aldabgina yig‘lading!
Yig‘lading-da turub-turub uzoqdan,
Menga boqib, bir necha so‘z so‘zlading!..
Men ham sening uzoqlardan munglanib,
Aytib turg‘on so‘zlaringni tinglarga
Yoning sari sekin borib yonoshdim,
Yonoshdim-da, yo‘llarimdan odoshdim.
Odashmasg‘a qo‘ymading, sen aldamchi!
Aylading, sen, bu kun mani yolg‘onchi!
Yosh chiqarmay, yig‘lab tusli ko‘runding,
«Ol cholg‘u», deb chin cholg‘uni yoshurding!
Bergan cholg‘ung cholg‘u emas-ku desam,
«Sen, cholg‘uni tanimaysan!» deb kulding!
«Chin cholg‘uni ber hozir!» deb qichqirsam,
Kulibgina: «O‘ynolmaysan!» deb so‘kding!
