The Sonnets[edit]
Hi! Thanks for taking an interest in working on Shakespeare's sonnets. I wanted to catch you before you got too far into the project, though, to propose a slightly different method. For the sake of having a more accurate count of the number of works on Wikisource, it might be better to give each sonnet its own page, as every other poem on Wikisource has its own page. I know this is a bit more work, but I think it is important to try to give as accurate a work count as possible. Zhaladshar June 27, 2005 12:46 (UTC)
- Ack, thanks for letting me know straight away. Yeah, it's more work, but I suppose it's probably for the best. Though I'm wondering how to deal with the Sonnets template, because having a link to each of the 154 sonnets would probably be unworkable. Any thoughts? Tiefighter 27 June 2005 12:51 (UTC)
Yeah, the page Author:William Shakespeare/The Sonnets is already created and can link to all of the sonnets. Of course, it will have to be cleaned up a bit. Also, have each sonnet link back to the main "sonnet page," that way accessing the other sonnets is only a click away, and there won't be a template that's insanely huge. Actually, I think having a template could also be beneficial. Look at Template:Federalist Papers for ideas. It's compact and can contain quite a few links. Zhaladshar June 27, 2005 15:14 (UTC)
Hi,
I think each Sonnet should have a page like The Sonnets/Sonnet 1, etc. rather than the actual naming schema. Yann June 27, 2005 15:25 (UTC)
- Yann, I just put a suggestion on the Talk:The Sonnets about a new naming convention. What are your opinions. Zhaladshar June 27, 2005 15:27 (UTC)
- I'm willing to go with whatever the consensus is, so long as the scheme is consistent. Actually, I quite like Yann's suggestion. For now, though, I'm off to bed. Tiefighter 27 June 2005 15:36 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed[edit]
Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Tiefighter. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Tiefighter~sourceswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
