Preamble[edit]

We, the people of the United States,
exercising our inherent sovereignty,
mindful of our responsibility towards creation and towards future generations,
in the knowledge that only those who use their freedom remain free, and that the strength of a nation is measured by the welfare of its weakest members,
and in order to:
  • constitute a Government that shall embody our ideals and aspirations;
  • promote and perfect the enduring federation of existing states, territories, and districts;
  • build a just and humane society;
  • establish Justice;
  • ensure domestic Tranquility;
  • provide for the common defence;
  • promote the general Welfare;
  • conserve and develop our patrimony;
  • and secure to ourselves and our Posterity the blessings of liberty, democracy and independence under the rule of law, and a regime of truth, justice, freedom, love, equality, and peace,
do hereby ordain, establish, promulgate, adopt, enact, and give to ourselves this new constitution for the United States of America.
