This work is in the public domain in the United States because it was first published outside the United States (and not published in the U.S. within 30 days), and it was first published before 1989 without complying with U.S. copyright formalities (renewal and/or copyright notice) and it was in the public domain in its home country on the URAA date (January 1, 1996 for most countries).

Usage

Use this licence template on works and authors that are in the public domain as of the URAA date. Both works and authors must meet all of these conditions:

  1. first published outside the United States.
  2. not published in the United States within 30 days of its first publication.
  3. first published before 1989 without complying with United States copyright formalities.
    • United States copyright formalities include such requirements as copyright renewal registration and/or being published with a copyright notice.
  4. in the public domain in its home country on the URAA date (January 1, 1996 for most countries).

Please consider using {{Pd/1996|year of author's death}} to automatically enhance the template to show how many years ago the authors died, or {{PD-anon-1996|year of publication}} for anonymous and pseudonymous works.

To create dynamic copyright messaging that will update as time passes and stay accurate when the author's death year (ADY) is known. Direction for including ADY is in each template document.

Published prior to 1923, ADY 100+ years ago {{PD-old}}
