Tarjuma to‘g‘risida jindak  (1926)

“… Sayfullinaning juda nafis va san’atkorona yozilg‘an hikoyalarida…” deb juda to‘g‘ri aytadir o‘rtoq Lyubimova.

Munday nafis asarlarni bir tildan – ikkinchi tilga ag‘darish juda og‘ir bo‘ladir. Ayniqsa, ishlangan tildan ishlanmagan tilga; adabiyot ahllari yaxshi biladirlar. Mutarjimni tiqilish qilib ganggiratgan nashriyot idorasi ham, bu jihatni bilmaydir emas, biladir. Bizning zamon talabicha ishlanmagan, xom tilimizdan atamalar topishning qiyinlig‘ini ham nashriyot idorasi jud yaxshi biladir. Faqat, “shunday yaxshi va o‘z turmushimizdan oling‘an asar rus tilida qachonlar chiqdiyu, bizda hali ham chiqmaydimi?” deb shoshiladir. Shu uchun, mana shu haqli shoshilish orqasida qo‘lingizdag‘i tarjuma – mening fikrimcha Lolaxonning nashriyotning, mening va hammadan muhimi tanqidchilarning kutganini bera olmaydir…

Bunday asarlar 5-10 yildan so‘ng kuchli bir hay’at tomonidan tarjuma qilinsa, balki, hammamizning istaganimiz bo‘lur, balki, Lolaxon ham o‘zining bechora qahramonlari kibi hayotni qarg‘amas edi…

Shunda ham “balki”si bor, chunki, tillar – asrlarning shogirdi.

Lolaxon bu shoh asarini juda boy bo‘lg‘an rus tilida va she’rli – vaznli nasr bilan yozadir. Rus adabiyoti muallimlari asarning nasr vaznini ko‘rdilar va uni qadim yunon Homerlarining “Iliada”lari vaznida yozilg‘an, deydilar.

Men Homer adabiyotining beganasi, o‘zbek turmushidan oling‘ani uchun bizning so‘z tartibimizga qaratib yozilg‘an, dedim. Rus adabiyoti muallimlari jim bo‘ldilar, men ham jim bo‘ldim. lekin, kim yenggani ma’lum bo‘lmadi; u yaqin kelgusining ishi bo‘lar.

Tarjumada, lekin Homer vazni yo‘q. Ishlanmagan muosir o‘zbek adabiy tili bor, uning kamchiligini tushunganlar, balki “Homerchi” bo‘lolmag‘animizdan kulmaslar. Balki, kularlar… Kulsinlar, mayli, kulish – yig‘lashdan yaxshi albatta!

Yo‘q… Homerga deyman – Lolaxon so‘z usuliga ergashilgan bir hikoya bor: “Cho‘l odatlari” mana bunday boshlanadir:

“Ko‘tarildi balandga ko‘katlar,

Yetildi hozir xush isli bahor”

Undan keyin hikoyaning boshidan oxirig‘acha jumla uzulishlari shunaqa “teskari”. Chunonchi:

“Baxtli bir kechada, yoruq yulduz shu’lasi ostida tug‘uldi gul jamol, nazar soldi yaxshi shamol endigina ochilg‘an ko‘zlariga”.

“Kirpik panjaralari orqali ko‘radir u…”

“Ko‘b baytallar bor mening yilqimda”

Bu “teskari” jumlalar, balki qoidaga xilofdir, lekin juda shirin, Lolaxon hikoyalarining maziyati ham, meningcha, ko‘brak shu shirinligida.

Boshqa hikoyalarda ham ko‘b jumlalar Lolaxonning yo‘lig‘a ergashib ketdi… Men to‘qtata olmadim, to‘g‘risi tilamadim to‘qtatishqa.

Sharq va g‘arb chegarasida alamli haramlarning ko‘z yoshlari bilan ochilib qolg‘an lola guldan kechirim so‘rab qolamen!
