Urkcu Huarankca, (6) a chieftain allied to Ollantay.

Pigui Chaqui, (8) Ollantay’s attendant.
Anahuargqut, (9) the Inca’s wife.
Cusi Keuyllur,(10) princess, daughter to Pachacutic and sister to Tupac Yupanqui.
NOTES
(1) Pachacutic, he who overturns (cutic) the -world (Packa). It is the name of the %h Inca, son of the famous Huirakcocha; he began to reign about the middle of the 14th century, and was renowned for hig ermelyy.
(2) Tupac Yupangad, thou shalt be powerfl (gupanguiy iilustrions one (tupac) Itis the name of the Tor Inca, See Garcilaso, Comentarios Reales pt. 1. |. Iil ¢. 17. He was known as a pacificator.
(3) Ollantay, ‘imaginary name Zegarra, Gramética Quichua, Introd. c. L. says that Ollanta is a spot, and the y changes it into an hereditary name. But thi a contrary to the grammatical rules. “Nodal, Gram fica Quichua, p. 4, derives it erroneously from Colla We Cannot accept the derivation of Barranca, from lls, membrum virile, Matkham and Von Tschudi are also mistaken in writing the word without the y Olianta.

(1) Pachacutic, celui qui bouleverse (cutic) le mond: (pacha). C'est le nom du 9e Inca, fils du fameux Huirakcocha; i\ commenga son régne vers le milieu da I¥e sitcle, et se fit renommer par sa cruauté,
(2, Tupac Yupangui; ww seras passant (yupangui) dtre illustre (tupac). C'est le nom du dixitme Inca, Voyes Garcilaso, Comentarios Reales, p. 1, 1. UL ch. 17, Il rétablit la paix.
(4) Ollantay, nom imaginaire Zegatra, Grammaire Quichua, Introd. ch, f, dit que Ollanta est Vendroit, et que I’y le change en nom héréditaire. Mais cela est contraire aux régles grammuticales. Nodal com met autre errear en le dérivant de Colla. Nous n' acceptons non plus la dérivation de Barranca, qui le dérive de s/s, membrum virile. Markham et Von Tschudi se sont trompés en écrivant ce mot sans I’ y, Oltanta.
