WHEREAS, the mitigating measures in the communities including staying at home when sick, keeping away from others and other instructions of public health officials or a health care provider; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary and appropriate to take action to ensure that COVID-19 remains controlled and that the residents and visitors of Aringay remain safe and secure;

NOW THEREFORE, I, ERIC O. SIBUMA, Municipal Mayor of the Municipality of Aringay, la Union by virtue by the powers vested upon me of the Constitution of the Philippines and all other laws of the Republic of the Philippines, promulgate this Executive Order to take immediate effect:

Section 1. In light of the declaration of COVID-19 with the alert level Code Red (sublevel 1) a National Public Health Emergency, the Municipal Government of Aringay, La Union, is hereby ordering the cancellation of all social gatherings like fiesta celebrations, big social gatherings, conferences, cockfighting activities, basketball games, volleyball games, dance competitions, exhibition games, general assemblies and similar activities from today until further statements on the prohibition will be released. For those that have scheduled non-essential events, consider modifying (through use of webinars) cancelling or postponing your events.

Section 2. The Department of Education has released Division Advisory No. 03, s.2020 and that students will be given home-based studies will only come to report to school from March 16-18, 2020 only during the time of their respective examination schedules. All classes whether public or private are cancelled from March 19, 2020 until March 30, 2020.

Section 3. On moving up and graduation rites which are scheduled within the week of April 1317, 2020, should there be lifting of the Public Health Emergency before that time, plans to conduct these activities may ensue. But should the Public Health Emergency is still enforced, then these activities shall be cancelled. All other mass activities after the declaration shall be cancelled until further lifted.
