SECTION 6. DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS OF THE BARANGAY WORKERS. The duly registered and accredited barangay workers are required to perform the following tasks as frontliners, but not limited to:

The BHWs are expected to provide services that are effective, empowering, appropriate, acceptable, available, accessible and efficient. These services must be part of activities that are carried out in order to accomplish pre-determined program objectives that provide benefits to Alaminos City residents and communities. They are expected to report to their duty assignments, attend meetings, conduct consultations as necessary and/or as assigned by their direct supervisor in the barangay, and coordinate with the City Health Office from time to time.

The BNSS are responsible for delivering nutrition services and other related activities, such as community health, backyard food production, environmental sanitation, culture, mental feeding, and family planning to the barangay. They are expected to report to their duty assignments, attend meetings, conduct consultations as necessary and/or as assigned by their direct supervisor in the barangay, and coordinate with the City Health Office from time to time.

. The CVOS shall act as barangay tanod and "force multipliers" in the campaign against all threats to public safety, peace and order. They shall aid law enforcers in addressing peace and order situations, criminalities and other forms of lawlessness in the barangay. They are expected to report to their duty assignments, attend meetings, provide active monitoring and vigilance as necessary and/or as assigned by their direct supervisor in the barangay, and coordinate with the Public Order & Safety Office and the PNP-Alaminos City Police Station from time to time.

SECTION 7. ALLOWANCE & BENEFIT OF DULY REGISTERED AND ACCREDITED BARANGAY WORKERS. The allowance and benefit granted under this Ordinance shall be treated as local benefit and shall include, but is not limited to the following:

(a) Accredited Barangay Workers shall be entitled to receive a monthly allowance, as follows:

i. BHWS and CVOS - Five Hundred Pesos (PhP500.00) monthly allowance

from the City Government of Alaminos, Pangasinan.

ii. BNSS-Three Hundred Pesos (PhP300.00) monthly allowance from the City

Government of Alaminos, Pangasinan.

(b) Identification Cards, duly signed by the City Mayor and the Chairman of the BWRAC with corresponding validity date. The same shall be issued to the BHWS, BNSS and CVOS without cost.

SECTION 8. APPROPRIATION FOR THE ADDITIONAL BENEFITS AND ALLOWANCES FOR QUALIFIED BARANGAY WORKERS. An initial funding of Five Million Pesos (PhP5,000,000.00) from the General Fund shall be appropriated through supplemental appropriation. Every year thereafter, the funds necessary for the grant of allowances and benefits for qualified barangay workers shall be included in the annual budget under the General Fund of the City Government and duly allocated in the Appropriations Ordinance.

SECTION 9. IMPLEMENTING RULES AND REGULATIONS. - Within sixty (60) days after the passage of this Ordinance, the Barangay Worker Registration and Accreditation Committee shall craft the necessary Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of this Ordinance subject to the confirmation of the Sangguniang Panlungsod.
