Of the friends to whom I am indebted for this attempt, I desire, in the first place, to men- tion the name of Mr. R. C. Dutt, c. I. e., who has helped me very materially by his advice and suggestions. 1 have also to gratefully acknow- ledge my obligations to Mr. G. C. Bose, M.
