Ko‘ngilchanglik
by Robindranat Tagor, translated by Abdulhamid Choʻlpon

Agar men sening o’g’ilchang bo’lmasdan kichkinagina kuchukcha bo’lsam-da, osh yeyman deb yugurub tovoqning yonig’a kelsam, sen onajon “yo’q” der eding-a, menga?

“Ket, yo’qol, yaramas kuchukcha!” deb meni haydab yuborar eding-a?

Unday bo’lsa bor, ona, bor! Mundan keyin meni chaqirg’on vaqtingda sira yonigg’a bormaymen, mundan keyin “kel, osh yedirib qo’yay” desang ham sira unamaymen.

Agar men sening o’g’ulchang bo’lmasdan ko’m-ko’k bir to’tiqush bo’lsam, uchub ketmasun deb qafasga qamab qo’yar eding-a onajon?

Sen menga barmoqlaringni do’layib po’pisa qilar, “hamma parrandalarning ichida qanday noshukur sho’rlik qush ekan bu! Kecha-kunduz qafasni cho’qib ovqat so’raydi!” der eding-a?

Unday bo’lsa bor, ona bor! Men endi to’qaylarg’a qochib ketamen: endi mundan nari quchog’ingg’a olmoqchi bo’lsang sira unamaymen.
