Tódo ſ'acaba! tódo cái! Subrâno
Cǔôrre 'I tĭêmpo. Cuitadas!
Am baixo tristemênte 'l Douro chóra,
Cumo n' èigreija, antre las fóias friês,
La cruj' a tóda l' óra:
Sóum múi malos, oh ſi, 'Is bỏſos dĭes!
La termiênt alhá riba ſ' oub' agóra,
— Qe lhagrimas las mĭês! —
I bós, ſim fǔôrça, ſim bigór, al menos
De ghérra num pudeis ſultar um grito
Pâls çĭêlos ſerénos!
Éſo fui tódo pul Destino scrito...
Ai de mi! Nada ſirbe yá 'I miu threnus,
Perdido n’anfenito!
