Agborogwụ

The name of this dance is Ekereagwu

We call it Ekereavu too

The dance is performed for entertainment purposes and in occasions

This dance started from our forefathers and possibly might have been in existence for as long as 100 years

We picked up from where our forefathers left to restructure it into this standard we have now.

It was also performed by our forefathers

It is part of the tradition in our village and we use it in occasions/ceremonies.

During any occasion, we are usually invited first before we can perform

We also perform it for traditional purposes in ceremonies indigenous to us.

Burial ceremonies, child dedication or marriage ceremonies are some of the occasions where the dance is performed

Wood from coconut'tree is used to for making this

This is a wooden gong

It is made of wood from a pear tree.

Usually, wood from most trees would serve in making this and we also use coconut tree wood in this instance

this one is made of good quality wood.

And high quality wood is used in making this one. This one is called oyo in Igbo language

we call this Osha in Igbo language

this one is metal gong which is Ogele

this one is called Aluminium
