5. Eligibility Assessment - refers to the conduct of intake interview and home visit to the identified senior citizen who is a walk-in and is referred or endorsed by the BASCA, OSCA. The assessment shall be conducted using the General Intake Sheet to be administered by the CSWDO staff to determine if the senior citizen is qualified for centenarian cash assistance.

6. General Intake Sheet (GIS) - refers to a form accomplished by the CSWDO staff where assessment of the senior citizen is written.

7. Identification of Beneficiaries - refers to the process of selection of potential beneficiaries based on the eligibility criteria of the program.

8. Centenarian - is an individual who has reached one hundred (100) years of age and above who is residing in the City of Alaminos.

9. Centenarian Incentive refers to Twenty Thousand Pesos Only (Php20,000.00) to be awarded by the City Government to the centenarian as additional benefit on the top of One Hundred Thousand Pesos (Php 100,000.00) Centenarian Gift from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

10. Birthday Cash Gift refers to cash assistance to be given by the city government as birthday gift to all senior citizens in the City of Alaminos in the amount of Five Hundred Pesos only (Php500.00) as an augmentation to family resources to defray medical and food expenses.

11. City Social Welfare and Development Office-refers to the office of the Local Government Unit (LGU) which is responsible in the implementation of social protection programs in the LGU, including direct services for specific sectors like the senior citizens in the city.

12. Validation refers to process of establishing the facts or information or gathering proofs or evidence on the information provided by the interviewer during the assessment of the eligibility of the senior citizen to the program

13. BASCA Barangay Senior Citizens Association shall primarily aim for - implementation of the policies, principles, intents and objectives of the Republic Act 7432, or An Act to Maximize the Contribution of Senior Citizens to Nation Building.

14. Plaque of Recognition - refers to an award given to a living centenarian by the city where he/she resides.

SECTION 4. Statement of Objectives. The primary objectives of this Ordinance are the following:

1. To recognize the rights of senior citizens to take their proper place in society and make it a concern of the family, community and government;

2. To give full support to the improvement of the total well-being of the elderly and their full participation in society, considering that senior citizens are integral part of Philippine Society; valued

3. To encourage the families and communities they live with to reaffirm the Filipino tradition of caring for the senior citizens;

4. To grant the Centenarians cash incentives; and

5. To motivate and encourage the senior citizens to contribute to nation building.
