Azroilmi, soliqchimi?
Zamonimiz qiziq bir zamon bo‘ldi! Kunda bir zakun, soatda bir xil qonun chiqayotibdur. Magar Nikolay vaqtida bizdan biron noshukrlik o‘tgan ekankim, bukun Haq taolo «bolshevik» degan bir toifa maxluqni boshimizga musallat qildi… Xudoyo, tavba qildim. Yana o‘zing bilasan. Mulk o‘zingniki, nima xohlasang qilmoqqa qodirsan…
Qaysi kun bozorg‘a chiqqan edim. Do‘kondorlarning sho‘ri qisqon ekan. Bir vaqt «soliqchi kelayotibdur» degan so‘z ovoza bo‘lib qoldi… Taqur-tuqur, shaqur-shuqur do‘konlar yopiddi. Xalq har tomong‘a pishakni ko‘rgan sichqondek qocha berdi. Salla jomasini o‘g‘irlatg‘on, noskadusini yo‘qotqon va kavushini yitirgonlarning soni yo‘q edi. Ko‘chalarda sovuq suv sotib yurgan bolalar ham qochib yoshirindilar. Hatto gadoylar ham soliqdan qo‘rqub qochdilar.
Bu mahsharasar hodisani ko‘rub man ham «la havla» o‘kudim. Ko‘nglimga vahima tushdi. Tezrak o‘zimni bir chetga oldim. Endi bozorg‘a chiqishqa ham yuragim qolmadi. Mumkin bo‘lsa, bundan keyin uyginamda besh vaqt namozimni o‘qub yotay deyman…
