آج وہ کشمیر ہے محکوم و مجبور و فقیر
کل جسے اہلِ نظر کہتے تھے ایرانِ صغیر
سینۂ افلاک سے اُٹھتی ہے آہِ سوز ناک
مردِ حق ہوتا ہے جب مرعوبِ سُلطان و امیر
کہہ رہا ہے داستاں بیدردیِ ایّام کی
کوہ کے دامن میں وہ غم خانۂ دہقانِ پیر
آہ! یہ قومِ نجیب و چرب دست و تر دماغ
ہے کہاں روزِ مکافات اے خُدائے دیر گیر؟
