Hello Tewdar, welcome to the multilingual Wikisource! Thanks for your interest in the project; we hope you'll enjoy the community and your work here.
This wiki is the original Wikisource wiki, originally hosting works in many languages. The larger collections have been spawned into separate projects, leaving this wiki to serve as a central collaboration point, and as an environment where works without a language subdomain can be started. Refer to our languages list to see which languages still reside on this wiki. You can find a list of the separate language projects on the main page or here and you may want to look at the our coordination page for limitations on placing certain works on the separate language projects.
Most questions and discussions about the community are in the Scriptorium.
The Community Portal lists tasks you can help with if you wish. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on my talk page!
Vocabularium Cornicum
[edit]Hu,
First of all, thanks for your help!
Then the formatting seems good. There is no strong rules, some people do a transcription as close as possible of the original and some modernize it for the readers. Both are acceptable (as long as it's consistent), for ancient document the first approach is generally preferred. And don't worry too much about specific devices like iPhones, they evolve and we proofread for the long term.
Something else that is often expected on Wikisource is a source. If someone want to check that a word is actually spelled like that and it's not just a transcription mistake. The easy way is to just put a link to a source and the harder but ideal way is to upload the fac-simile on Commons. I can help you with that if you want.

- Oh, the first page is already uploaded at here. It says it's public domain, but the source no longer has it listed for public viewing. BL. I have the rest of the images, shall I just upload them to commons? Tewdar (talk) 12:59, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
- I uploaded the rest:

- no doubt there are some u's that look like n's... Tewdar (talk) 13:41, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
- Could you merge these page in one file ? It would allow to create an index like in this: Index:Arthur Hespel - L’émancipatieon des feimmes, 1901.djvu. If you can't do it, maybe other people like Cunegonde1 would be available to do it. Cheers, VIGNERON (talk) 15:37, 6 June 2025 (UTC)
- I could probably manage that 😁, but probably not for a couple of days now. What exactly do you mean by 'merge these page in one file'? like a djvu or a pdf or something ? Tewdar (talk) 15:44, 6 June 2025 (UTC)
- Also ,is this a reasonable way of doing a manuscript of just under 200 pages? Tewdar (talk) 16:03, 6 June 2025 (UTC)
- djvu now uploaded to commons as File:Vocabularium Cornicum.djvu Tewdar (talk) 12:47, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
- and I made the index page at https://wikisource.org/wiki/Index:Vocabularium_Cornicum.djvu and pasted in the text now. Tewdar (talk) 12:57, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
- I'm not sure I really understand the workflow here. Are the pages is the index supposed to be the final document, or...not? Tewdar (talk) 13:13, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
- Okay ,I think I got the idea now... Tewdar (talk) 10:39, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
