Copyright Status[edit]
The exact copyright status of this work is unknown to me. However, the following are known:
- According to the text on the page, it was published posthumously between 1927 and 1947, it was banned by the British, and it was again published after India became independent in 1947.
- The copyright law applicable to British India at the time was Indian Copyright Act, 1914. This was based on the British Copyright Act, 1911 [1].
- The current copyright law in India is Indian Copyright Act, 1957.
- Until 1991, the 1957 act had a copyright term of 50pma/50 yrs from date of publication in case of posthumous publication. This was amended in 1991 to be 60 yrs instead.
- The 1911 British law was also 50pma/50 yrs from the date of publication in case of posthumous publication.
