This table is a summary of the different policies and technical solutions used in the Wikisource subdomains. Its goal is to facilitate comparisons and to increase users' awareness of the different options. Certain cells are colored to highlight important local policies, especially those in red for more restrictive ones.

Exceptions may apply in the 9th Circuit for non-American works published since 1 July 1909 per http://www.copyright.cornell.edu/public_domain/#Footnote_12 by Peter Hirtle. This column indicates whether such works are allowed on a Wikisource subdomain when considering wmf:Resolution:Licensing_policy with respect to the laws of any countries where any project content is predominantly accessed. If not, ws.org temporarily hosts these works and will transfer them to the subdomains when appropriate, while footnotes of this column also show the general copyright lengths of restrictive countries and areas.
