Re: Cantonese[edit]
I have not seen any request for a Cantonese Wikisource separate from Chinese Wikisource, so if the Cantonese Main Page is not to be moved to Chinese Wikisource, it should stay here until any request for a Cantonese Wikisource.--Jusjih 06:58, 14 September 2005 (UTC)
- From what Jusjih wrote above, it seems like there is no real disagreement here. Jusjih simply did not know that user:CantoneseWiki wanted to keep a local Main Page for Cantonese here at wikisource.org. So if there is no disagreement, then user:CantoneseWiki might as well just put the local Main Page back and add texts freely here at wikisource.org. An admin can put back the Cantonese link back on the template for the Main Page.
- user:CantoneseWiki - you should be very careful about labeling every Cantonese text with category:Cantonese. That way, if a separate Cantonese domain ever is set up, it will be much easier to find the pages to be moved/copied.Dovi 08:07, 14 September 2005 (UTC)
- Actually, I see that this was already done. Good luck in Cantonese!Dovi 08:10, 14 September 2005 (UTC)
Thanks Jusjih and Dovi. - CantoneseWiki 08:13, 14 September 2005 (UTC)
- I have removed the Cantonese Main Page from User:Jusjih/Chinese where I manually list Chinese pages to be moved.--Jusjih 08:30, 15 September 2005 (UTC)
Very persuasive administrator User:Shizhao deleted it on 1 December 2005 while he thought that would be part of Chinese Wikisource. I just tell him not to delete it. I have restored the Cantonese Main page for you. I will add back a link from Main Page soon. I also discovered a Southern Min Main page here.--Jusjih 03:43, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed[edit]
Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called CantoneseWiki. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name CantoneseWiki~sourceswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
