why use Ĉefpaĝo:Esperanto but not Main Page:Esperanto just as every other language does? --Samuel 18:27, 9 Dec 2003 (UTC)
By rights, Samuel, each language listed here should have its own domain, like in Wikipedia. Why use English instead of the language of the users we are writing the page for? -- Gabriel Beecham
- I agree with Samuel on this. I am always sensitive to linguistic and cultural issues, but there are times when having the same format can enhance usability. I do support separate language based projects for Wikipedia and Wiktionary, but Wikisource is different in that it will contain relatively stable source texts in any language. It also allows for new translations of these texts into other languages, and, I hope, a system of easily accessing these source texts without having to search out what has been contributed at an other-language Wikisource. Discussion about how to interlink these versions is in continuing discussion. Eclecticology 19:49, 13 Dec 2003 (UTC)

- See, I am not promoting English. Flankly speaking, I would rather see separate version of Wikisouce, and a Chinese version using "主頁" rather than "Main Page". In addition, the name "Ĉefpaĝo:Esperanto" is quite redundant, do we need "Ĉefpaĝo:English", "Ĉefpaĝo:Chinese" or "Ĉefpaĝo:Japanese"? The same, do we need "主頁:English", "主頁:Esperanto", "主頁:Japanese"? Why or why not? If you say we could use plain "Ĉefpaĝo" instead of "Ĉefpaĝo:Esperanto" to name the Main Page in Esperanto, just let's pray that no languages spell "Main Page" in the same way, so that we are not going to go through a naming conflict! :) --Samuel 04:21, 14 Dec 2003 (UTC)

- It seems to me that every language should have a "Main Page:Lang-name" translated into its own language, which includes translating "Main Page", just as every language should have a local translation of its other namespaces (Template, Talk, etc). That said, for usability, there should be no rule against created redirects for "Main Page:Esperanto" or "Ĉefpaĝo:Chinese" if some users would find these useful ways to locate the Esperanto or Chinese main pages. Hello. Please check (and if need be add or correct) the translation of "Wikisource — The Free Library" in your language, in the table at this page. Note: The table is linked to from the circular logo at Wikisource's Multilingual Portal. Dovi 07:31, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Ni bezonas apartan esperantan projekton (eo.wikisource.org)
